NASN 2019 National Conference- A word from our President!

Posted over 6 years ago by Megan Lytle MBA, MSN, RN

Hello!

It is time to think about going to NASN2019. The conference this year is at our Neighbors in Denver. The venue is the newly opened Gaylord Rockies Hotel. I would love to see a large number of Nebraska School Nurses attend the conference.  National Conference is amazing! You network with school nurses from around the nation and overseas. You learn from experts in our field. You make lifelong friends and colleagues.

I know that attending can be costly. Please refer to the NASN website for the toolkit on conference attendance…included in that is a letter that you can share with your administration to help with cost.

I have done some research on transportation costs to Denver. Flights from Omaha currently start at $364 roundtrip; from Lincoln, $277 roundtrip. Amtrak, an 8-hour journey, is a total of $160.00.  Of course, all of these prices are subject to change.

Additionally, I have been in contact with Arrow Stage lines about doing a charter bus, starting in Omaha and making stops along I-80. A bus, which can hold 54 people, would cost about $100.00 per person. Bus amenities include restroom, PA system, DVD players, climate controlled, storage, WiFi and charging outlets.  If you are interested in doing the bus, option, please email me at kduncan@lps.org

I hope to see many Nebraska nurses at NASN2019. Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a great 2nd semester!
