Leaders Needed!

Greetings to all Nebraska School Nurses!

I am really looking forward to this year's School Health Conference planned forJune 8th through the 10th in Kearney. The topics and speakers this year are top-notch and so relevant to the practice of School Nursing. Having been in on the planning end in the past, I know first hand how much work goes into putting a conference of this caliber together. Your planning committee and NSNA officers have done an outstanding job—please remember to thank them!

Now it's time for you to step forward and consider taking a leadership role in your Nebraska School Nurses Association. Believe me, you already possess the talent and expertise required—all that's needed is your desire to do your part.

There are several opportunities for you to consider:

1. President Elect - this is a 3-year commitment: president-elect the first year, president the second year and past-president the third year. I can tell you from experience that this is a great opportunity to give back to the organization that gives you so much! And I promise you that the 3 years will fly by!
   
   
2. Secretary - this position has been held by Jill Foltz. This is a 2-year commitment. I know Jill would be willing to show you the ropes!
   
   
3. District 1 and 2 Representative (Diane Smith and Becky Wetenkamp¨)—the person in this position is a resource to school nurses who may be new, or have questions, suggestions or concerns to bring to the Board of Directors. Time spent would be minimal.
   
   
4. Please consider if you would like to be part of acommittee this year. We would really like to have members step forward and commit to a committee at the School Health Conference this year. Committee's to consider are as follows:

• Nominating
• Audit
• Membership
• Legislative
• Fundraising
• Hospitality
